Skanska, a construction and development company, has secured a £52m contract for the replacement of the SAS13 bridge on the Stechford to Aston (SAS) rail line in the West Midlands in England.

The barges were transporting construction cranes, massive beams, and other heavy cargo being used by Swedish corporation Skanska, which had been contracted to work on the bridge. According to Engineering News, the accident and subsequent closure of the bridge has prompted 70 lawsuits from Pensacola community property and business owners. The bridge has been out of use since the September hurricane, when 27 Skanska barges being used in the construction of the Pensacola Bay Bridge broke loose and caused extensive damage.
